The annual ounce of prevention
Chimney Sweeping & Inspection in Colorado Springs, CO
A chimney fire doesn't start the night it happens. It starts two or three seasons earlier, in the creosote nobody swept and the flue crack nobody saw. An annual sweep and inspection is the cheapest insurance a wood-burning home can buy.

What a Sweep & Inspection Covers
A chimney fire doesn't start the night it happens. It starts two or three seasons earlier, in the creosote nobody swept and the flue crack nobody saw. An annual sweep and inspection is the cheapest insurance a wood-burning home can buy, and it's the service we'd tell you to book even if you booked it with somebody else.
Our sweeps are CSIA certified and thorough: full creosote removal, a top-to-bottom look at the flue, cap, crown, and firebox, and an honest report. If something needs attention, you'll know exactly what and why. If nothing does, you'll hear that too. We're not a find-something shop.
- CSIA-certified chimney sweeping for wood fireplaces, stoves, and inserts
- Safety inspections, cap to firebox
- Creosote assessment with straight talk about burn habits
- Gas fireplace flue and vent checks on the same visit if you have both

“Matt was amazing! Found our issue quickly, repaired it and educated us along the way! It was such a fantastic experience. Past fire place guy said we needed a whole new fire place, Matt found it was just a bad switch! Grateful!”
“Matthew was extremely thorough, checking out the AC unit and the Armstrong furnace. The blower was very dirty, and Matthew spent a lot of time cleaning out the blower. I would highly recommend MH Services to anyone. Courteous, professional, and extremely thorough.”
“When my fireplace quit working shortly before the holidays, bigger companies told me I'd have to wait two months for service. Despite his full schedule, Matthew fit me in the following business day. He not only fixed the issue, he provided extras, like a fresh coat of paint and glass cleaning -- at no extra charge.”
“I’ve noticed that over the last few years I rarely used my indoor fireplace, likely because of the white film on the glass. I called MH services company one afternoon, and Matthew came out the following morning, took apart the unit, inspected it, cleaned and touched it up. He also took the time to show me how to perform routine maintenance. Strongly recommend, especially if you’ve owned your home for a while.”

Common Questions About Chimney Sweeping & Inspection
How often should my chimney be swept?
Burn wood regularly? Annually, no debate. Occasional burner? An inspection every year and a sweep as the buildup warrants. Colorado's dry wood burns cleaner than back-east hardwood, but creosote still accumulates.
When's the best time to book?
Off-season, spring through early fall. Same service, faster scheduling, and any repairs it finds can happen before you need the fire, not while you're waiting on one.
